Eagle-eyed fans called Paloma Faith out on her 'fake laugh' when she narrowly lost out to Dua Lipa for the Brit Award's British Female Solo Artist on Wednesday.

The Crybaby hitmaker initially looked unimpressed before she burst into a fit of giggles when the New Rules hitmaker was announced the winner of the coveted award in a very awkward moment.

On Friday morning, 36-year-old Paloma finally addressed the uncomfortable moment when she appeared on Capital FM at their London studios in three bright outfits.

So of course she looked initially stone-faced before the man sat next to her was quick to point out she was on the screen.

Just moments later, the singer can be seen suddenly bursting into a fit of giggles in the charming company of her fellow guests — which fans accused of being fake.

Asked about the moment on Capital FM, Paloma said: 'The guy sat next to me has gone, the cameras on you right now! So I was kinda having fun with the people next to me.

'And then they were like oh your category. I already knew because I just knew that I wasn’t going to win anything so I didn’t feel like I had to concentrate.

'He was like, "the cameras on you" so I was like AHAHAHAA.'

Clearing the air, Paloma explained she was genuinely 'really happy' for her rival as she insisted her laughter was not 'sarcasm'.

She added: 'But I’m really happy for Dua, and for the record if anyone thought that was sarcasm – is wrong.'

Well recognised for her quirky sense of style, Paloma burst onto the bustling London scene at Leicester Square in a series of bright ensembles.

The actress was impossible to miss when she stepped out in a fuchsia pink dress which was cinched at the waist to draw attention to her slender figure.

With her long waist-length locks scraped into a high ponytail, she put her dazzling sunglasses adorned with sparkling frames on display.
